My weekend in Carmel

Well HI everyone! I had the BEST TIME in Carmel! I really enjoyed the sounds of the ocean(much better than my CD) and the sounds of birds every morning. I also enjoyed going on some amazing beach walks and walks through town.
Grandma Diane and grandad Ward also really enjoyed getting to know me a little more. They baby sat me Saturday night so mom and dad could go out. Diane and Ward said I was such a good baby! We also enjoyed lunch out every day. One day we went to Hogbreath Inn and the next we went to Village Corner. Mom and dad went to Club Jalapeno for their date.
On Sunday night, we ate at grandma Diane's and that was also very fun. I spent a lot of time in my bouncy chair and playing with all the fun toys grandma Diane bought me.
I slept well and just had the best time!
I can now face forward in my Snugli so we did a lot of walks that way which was really fun because then I could see things like sea otters and birds.
We are now back home and I have been sleeping for quite a while. All that ocean air really knocked me out.
Anyway, I think the pictures speak for themselves. AMAZING!

mom got a good laugh

well shortly after all these cute pictures were taken of me, I decided to puke on dad. Mom couldn't stop laughing! She says it was very funny. I don't think dad agreed. I'm told this puking phenomenon is related to my eating too much too fast. I guess one of these days I may slow down when I eat my food. I just don't know any better because I am still such a baby.
So today mom was very proud of me. I slept for quite a while so mom could go and have a real lunch at Marnee Thai. She was very excited about that. We also had a good walk through Golden Gate Park again.
Our refrigerator finally got fixed and mom is now very excited because she can go grocery shopping and not worry about things going bad unexpectedly.
Last night mom and dad went to this restaurant called "Ten." They said it was very good. They got rained on pretty bad on their walk home. They didn't bring an umbrella.
Anyway, tonight is dad's last Cal basketball game so I have nannie Ellie so mom can get some sleep. I've been a very happy baby the last couple of days. Mom is thrilled.
I guess next time you hear from me, I'll have gone to Carmel. I am very excited about that. Some new scenery will be nice!
Have a good weekend all!

More pictures

Some new shots of me that I thought my friends might like. I am trying to start a new fashion trend with where I wear my pants.

Dad and I

I was hysterical because?

This is my new white furry jacket. It is really cozy to sleep in, but I am not big on new things. When dad walked me through the neighborhood to get some cake for mom, I went absoutely nuts in the stroller while in my new jacket. Looking back, I have no reason why I went nuts, but I am a baby so I can do that!

It's wednesday already!

WOW where does the time go?! I here mom say that ALL THE TIME! We'll I wish we could say we've been busy and well I guess in baby terms we have been. Monday mom and I went to the JCC and mom took a killer spin class--she says it was killer because it nearly killed her! and I played with the other babies at daycare.
Tuesday I went over to grandma Julie's so mom could get a break and run some errands. Mom got some hot new workout clothes that she is very excited about.
Today is Wednesday and we went for a long walk in Golden Gate Park. We saw the most beautiful heron bird at the Arboretum. He's very tall and grey. Mom says he looks very healthy too. Mom was a little tired because she pulled night duty last night since I decided not to sleep and dad had to get some sleep to function at work. I have been sleeping most of the afternoon so mom is sort of caught up on her Z's.
Tomorrow we get our refrigerator fixed! yeah! it's been having trouble keeping things cold and it's just taken forever to get someone out here to fix it!
Friday mom goes to dad's farewell party at Cal and I have my nannie to watch me so mom can have a drink at the party.
Saturday we head off to Carmel. That will be grand fun!
Other news to report, I like toys! I am now playing gleefully with my Pottery Barn Kids rattle that auntie Char gave me. It's very soft and I like to suck on it and I'm getting pretty good at holding onto it too. I also really love this thing called a Whoozit. It has funny colors and makes funny noises and has a mirror on it. I also still love my gymini but it always gives me hiccups which I hate so I only play for a limited time on it. Mom says I have quite a charming smile these days. Her face lights up everytime I whip it out. I've got her suckered pretty good!
Also I finally fit into one of my jackets I got for Xmas. It's white and has a scrunchable hood so it fits my small head. I look like quite the snowman in it and it's been great for our cold morning walks. It's still a little big on me but mom says I look super cute in it. Mom hasn't taught me how to download pictures onto the website so you'll have to wait for dad to post the pictures. They are coming soon! Mom took quite a few photos today since dad left the camera at home.
I guess that's all to report for today. Hope you are all having a great week!

Big Weekend out

Hello everyone, you can see I am almost as big as Soc man the cat, which is very exciting. I am starting to become stronger too. Dad likes to play "stand" and "sit" with me, which is a game where I stand up all on my own and dad supports me in case I fall. It usually tires me out, so then we play "sit." In "sit," I practice being upright and keeping my head up on my own. I have not mastered these games, but I am getting better and they keep me from being fussy when I am bored.

In other news, I like this picture of mom and I hanging out in bed. I feel like a big shot when I get to do this. Another nice thing mom did today was read to me a book called "cat." It was very short and simple, but it helps me start to understand what the big fuzzy things are in my house that like to snuggle with me when I eat. When one of the cats comes up to me, I like to pet it and my eyes get very big trying to concentrate on them.

One bad thing happened this weekend. The person mom named me after, Andy Roddick, blew it again in a major tennis competiton. He lost to some cro-magnon looking Greek guy in the Australian Open. It was very sad watching the obnoxious Greek fans because they were very rude and unbecoming a tennis match. These Greek fans are probably soccer fans which better explains their behavior. I just don't understand these people. Mom says I can't play soccer because fans like this gives sports a bad name. I'm supposed to be a big sports fan when I grow up so mom and dad feel it's important to educate me on how to behave from a young age.
Anyway, read below for all the details on the A's party mom and dad attended last night. The picture of mom and Rickey Henderson is really very fun don't you think?
Have a good week all.

Big party at the A's

Well mom and dad went to a big party last night. I wasn't invited so mom is going to tell you the story...
Scott and I attended a reunion for the 1989 World Series A's. It was really a lot of fun! We got to reconnect with lots of the old players and front office people from the days when my family owned the team. We got a great picture of me and Rickey Henderson who many of you know has been my favorite player since I was 8! Rickey was very sweet and even looked at my baby pictures. He said he really wishes he had had a boy to carry on his baseball tradition. Rickey still wants to play, of course, the guy looks like he could! Other players we saw and spoke to were Terry Steinbach, Carney Lansford, Renee Lacheman, Darren Lewis, Bruce Bochte, Dave Henderson and many others. Scott and I had a wonderful time and it was sort of Scott's grand debut into the A's family. Everyone is very excited to have Scott working at the A's and everyone wants me to bring the baby into the office as soon as possible. It was really funny how many people came up to me and said "I knew you when you were so small and look at you now!" We brought baby pictures along and everyone oohed and awed over what a cute baby Andy is. There were lots of new parent stories spinning around which was very entertaining and everyone said we looked great considering what phase of parenting we were in.
Andy was safely at home with nannie Ellie so Scott and I were able to really have a wonderful time and not worry.
Anyway, Andy is a very happy baby today which has been very nice for us. I guess he's getting a good vibe off us or something. He's really starting to play with his toys now and interact with the world around him which is great fun for us. He just has the most priceless expressions these days.
My week ahead is rather uneventful until we go down to Carmel on Saturday. We are all very excited about getting down there for a few days and introducing Andy to sea otters and the Carmel beach.
Friday Cal is throwing Scott a going away party so that should be grand fun. I'm looking forward to having my husband back to sane hours again! Thursday is Scott's last Cal Basketball game. It's sort of bittersweet when you consider all his hard work and now he gets to have the pleasure of handing it off to someone else. Scott is FINALLY going to live his dream of working for a baseball team and I am just THRILLED!
Anyway, I guess I'm being very chatty today. I should get going while Andy is still asleep. Have a great week all. You should be hearing from Andy again real soon.

Sleeping away!

Well today I've been sleeping a lot which mom really appreciates! I spent the morning at grandma Julie's which was great fun. Grandma Julie complained that I slept a lot but not for extended enough time for her to get anything done. Mom laughed. She said this happens to her all the time. While I was at grandma Julie's, mom went to Target and got a new rug for my bedroom--it's indigo blue and very nice. She also ran some other random errands she's been wanting to get done.
Mom also went to JCC and took a really fun step class. Mom said it was nice to drop me off at grandma Julie's as she's not too sure if I like daycare or not. Mom seems to believe that I like daycare until the last 5 minutes when she comes to pick me up.
Tomorrow night mom and dad are going to a fun party thrown by the Oakland Athletics in honor of the 1989 baseball team. They say it will be very star-studded with lots of baseball players and friends from the team. I know they are really looking forward to it. I'm told it's an adult party so my nannie will be with me.
Mom says she has to get her nails done tomorrow. I don't like manicures so I have no idea why she would pay someone to do it to her.
Next Friday Cal is having a farewell party for dad as he heads off to the A's. Mom says she and I are going. Mom hopes I behave so she can have a margarita.
Next weekend we are heading off to Carmel. I have never been there. It's dad's final vacation before he starts his job with the A's. His first day at the A's is February 1st.
I guess that's all to report for today. Have a good weekend everyone!

mom's back in her skinny jeans!

Well today mom got back in her skinny jeans! I guess all those workouts at JCC have really paid off. She's very excited about getting back into her old wardrobe again. Today we are going shopping. YEAH!

My first trip to the JCC

Well yesterday mom and I went on quite an adventure! We went to the JCC. It was grand fun! I got to play with the other kids at their daycare and mom got to take a great spin class! I really enjoyed my time at JCC and mom appreciated getting a good workout. We go again tomorrow and i can't wait!
When we got home, I decided to be awake the rest of the day. This makes it very hard on mom especially since I am still learning how to entertain myself. I was up from 1-8pm and well I wasn't a very happy camper.
Then I decided to sleep through the night! This was a first for me. I've been very happy today after my good night's sleep and I'm currently playing with my WubaNub which mom appreciates.
Today we are heading off to DayOne so mom can learn about how to keep me entertained now that I am awake so much more during the day.
I guess that's all to report for today. Oh yes, mom wanted me to mention that, despite the pictures, I don't sleep all the time and I do get a good cry going when I feel I need to. So don't be deceived into thinking I am some sort of mutant baby or something. I can be insane just like all the others and mom has her share of very tired days. Someone mentioned to mom that all I do is sleep and well she wants to dispell that myth as quickly as possible.
Take care everyone. I'll hopefully be able to write again soon.

Roll over

I did my first roll over on the couch Saturday, which I guess is sort of cheating. I was so bored I had to do something different! I did not know what to do once I got on my tummy, but I decided going crazy wouldn't do me any good..so I did what I usually do.....go to sleep! Fortunately I was smart enough to know to put my head to the side so I could breathe. I now really get to enjoy time on my tummy. It's one of my favorite positions.

Fashion Show

I really like my little penguin outfit, so I asked dad to take a picture of it so you could all see it

You might have noticed I wear my pant's very high, Mom and dad say this is very uncool, but they are the ones that dress me so oh well.

Busy Weekend!

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been so absent. It's just been so busy around here! Where to start?
Mom and I continue to do our daily walks through the park although they have been somewhat difficult on rainy days. I enjoy going to the park and seeing all the ducks and plants in the Arboretum. We are usually out for about 2 hours each walk. On Thursday, mom tried to have some friends over but I was being rather difficult so we went on 2 park walks that day. On Friday, mom, grandma Julie and I went shopping for baby clothes at Dottie Doolittle. Everyone was very happy to meet me. Mom and grandma Julie bought some clothes for Dr. Janet Foley's baby girl who is due in February. Grandma Julie wanted to buy me some clothes but mom said we didn't need any right now. I'm sure I'll get a new wardrobe when I get bigger.
The other exciting thing about Friday is I got a new toy! It's called a WubbaNub. It's a stuffed animal attached to a pacifier. I absolutely love it! If dad ever gets around to it, you will see a picture of me playing with it soon.

Saturday it rained most of the day so we stayed home and watched football. Mom spent some time at the vet hospital because my cat Socrates was sick. He's better now. He apparently got into something he shouldn't have and paid the price. Mom says I'll understand this when I start eating solid foods. Saturday we also got a quick visit from grandpa Ward who was very happy to see me.
So today is Sunday and we had a rather busy morning. Mom, dad and I got out of the house early and headed over to the Marina. We had breakfast at Bechelli's on Chestnut St. Mom and dad say it's very good and they were very baby friendly. Then we went to grandma Julie's for a quick change and feed and then it was off to Chrissy Field. We went to Chrissy Field with grandma Julie's dogs and they were very high maintanance. Mom and dad got a good laugh out of that. Grandma Julie's dogs get tired easily so they left about 1/2 way through our walk. We finished our walk--it lasted about 2 hours and there were so many people--and then headed home. It was very cold and crisp and beautiful at Chrissy Field. I slept for most of our walk.
So now we are home, watching football and I'm playing with my WubbaNub.
This week we start our JCC membership. Mom is very excited about getting back into the gym. I will be with their childcare program while mom works out. That should be fun! We went and visited their childcare program last week and I really enjoyed it. Lots of fun mobiles to play with!
I guess that's all to report today. I hope this nice weather contines. I really do enjoy the outdoors. Have a great week all!

Wednesday, January 11, 2006

I thought I would share a couple of new pictures. The first one of me is in my new baseball outfit to celebrate Dad's big move. In case you didn't know, dad got a job working for the Oakland A's baseball team. Sorry I didn't have the best smile, think I was sinking in the pillow a bit at the time. Mom took the picture kind of on the fly and didn't tell me to smile for the camera. This other shot of me is before I went off to visit the grandad Ward and great grandad Howard Zumsteg. Within moments of this picture I screamed in the car for the entire ride over to visit them. I still have absolutely no idea what I was upset about, but I do that sometimes. I think the hat was in my face. I hate that! Today I spent a good part of my day with grandma Julie. That was great fun! We went for a walk with the dogs and I got held a lot. Mom tries to get me out every day but today it rained so I went out with grandma Julie when the weather was a little more cooperative. Then I decided to take a long nap so mom and dad could have a civilized dinner. They appreciated that. I guess that's all to report. Enjoy the pictures below too. I guess I'm getting bigger and bigger by the day!

Bath Time Pictures

Hello, Dad took pictures of me after taking my bath in my little dog outfit. That is why I have dog ears on my towel. They make these things just so we look cute. I really like taking baths as I get rid of all that formula that gets stuck under my chin. Besides, it cleans me up so that I smell fresh and clean.
