I tried applesauce

Ok so the pediatrician said to wait until I am 6 months but mom and dad couldn't wait another minute. So last night I tried applesauce. It was GROSS! Well I don't know what I thought of it really besides it being very weird. I mean mom tried to shove this spoon in my mouth--what is that? and well it wasn't formula. It ended up mostly on my face and my bib and my facial expression was one of pure confussion. Mom and dad got a good laugh. I didn't sleep so well last night either so mom has decided we'll wait a little while longer before trying again.
Today I got to play with the baby ducklings. They have gotten so big! They came right up to us and we fed them. They are such little fluff balls and so very cute! I really enjoyed watching them swim in the water. We also saw our geese friends who weren't so friendly today. We spent a lot of time just sitting and watching the ducks today. I like that best of all.
So mom leaves for her trip Thursday. It sure will be different around here. I am looking forward to bonding with dad.

Playing with geese

Hi everyone! It's been very busy here lately. Mom has been in charge of me for 14 straight days because dad had to work. Baseball season sure is crazy. So we've gotten into this new activity of going up to Stow Lake and watching the Canadian Geese. We've become very good friends. They come right up to us and eat out of our hands and they are so tall I can pet them! Mom gets a little nervous they are going to bite my fingers off but so far it's been ok. Today we spent a lot of time up at the Lake watching the ducklings--they are now swimming! We also watched the geese as they tromped up the hill with great ease. It was rather impressive. Mom says the geese are kind of bullies though because they try to control the ducks but it seems to me they get along ok. The geese do keep the seagulls away which mom likes.
Other exciting things for me. I'm getting very good at rolling over! I also am trying very hard to sit up. I also have become very creative in my sleeping positions. I start in one part of the crib and usually end up somewhere completely different. It's kind of fun! Oh and I really like soft blocks now. I can play with those for hours. Oh and I'm becoming very good friends with the cats that live in my house. We snuggle every morning! I really like to pull their fur which mom says is bad. I also really enjoy it when they rub up against me and purr. Gauranteed smile! Oh and I've become quite the drooler lately. Mom thinks I may be teething but it's kind of hard to tell. I wear a bib permanantly now so I don't ruin my clothes. I like the eat the bib. Mom says we're going to try solid foods soon. I can't wait! Mom hopes it will help me sleep a little longer at night. I'm now waking up one to two times a night which is a grand improvement on the early days of my life.
Mom is heading out of town at the end of this week so she can attend a friend's wedding. I'm staying home with dad which will be nice. Mom says she's ready for a break but will probably miss me. I know I'll miss her but dad and I will have lots of fun in her absence.

Big Boy Chair

I really like to play in my "big boy chair" when mom and dad eat. It hooks right onto the table so mom and dad can watch me and eat in peace. It also is great for me because I can play with all my toys at the table.

Sunny Monday

Find the baby ducks!! look close!!

Well we finally got some good weather! Today we went to the zoo. It was so fun! I really enjoyed the penguins, lions and bears! The polar bears in particular made me laugh. Dad took the day off to so that was extra nice.
This weekend I spent a lot of time with grandma Julie because dad was working and well it was raining and mom couldn't stand being around the house anymore.
On Saturday, we helped grandma Julie prepare for Easter by setting the Easter table. It was kind of neat. Lots of pretty eggs and mom ate lots of chocolate. I also got to spend some quality time with grandpa Wally which was fun! He makes the funniest faces!
Sunday we went to visit great grandma Clare and great grandpa Preben which was grand fun! I also got to meet my great aunt Thale and uncle Steve for the first time. They gave me a cool aquarium to play with. It's got fish that you pull out that make funny noises and the aquarium itself is really neat.
So I've had a very busy last couple of days.
I have figured out how to roll over from front to back and back to front. It's grand fun. Mom and dad are not too thrilled because I stay up all night practicing. They aren't getting a whole lot of sleep because everytime I roll over, I wake up and squeal waking up the whole house. Then it takes me a while to calm down and go back to sleep. Then I do it all over again. It's funny because I start at one part of the crib and end up at a completely different spot a few hours later. This morning I was sideways on the crib which was really cool! Mom is a little worried I may roll out one day so they are very careful to make sure that the side bar on the crib is up when I go to sleep.
Well I guess that's all for today! It looks like the sun may stay out for a few days so we may go back to the zoo tomorrow. We're now members so we can go whenever we want!
Have a good week all. Oh I almost forgot the coolest part of my day! We went up to Stow Lake this morning and there were little baby ducks! They were so cute!

Hail the Sunshine!

Well yesterday the sun actually came out! Mom and I were so excited! We started our morning with a nice walk with grandma Diane and then came back to the house and played with these soft blocks that Diane brought. That was grand fun! Then mom realized it was warm out so we headed out again and mom had lunch. Then we went to Stow Lake to see the ducks. There were lots of people out on boats but not a lot of ducks. So we headed down to the arboretum where there were lots of seagulls. Mom isn't too fond of seagulls but I liked them just fine. There were so many people out in the park! It was so nice.
It was hot in the sun so we headed over to a shady meadow where there were a lot of moms with their babies. I socialized with the babies while mom socialized with the moms. It was great fun! The moms all exchanged phone numbers so they could stay in touch. Mom is very excited about getting in touch with fellow moms. We stayed out for about 4 hours and then decided to head home so I could take a nap. I didn't take a nap but continued to play until dad got home. I slept very well last night after my day of playing.
It looks like another nice day so we'll see what we end up doing. This weekend I may go to another baseball game if the weather is nice and Sunday I go over to see grandma Julie and the gang to celebrate Easter.
Let's hope this sun stays out for a while. I so enjoyed getting out.

I squeal!

Ok I haven't updated you on my newest trick. I now have this high pitched squeal that I like to use to tell people I am having fun! Mom says it's hilarious and definately gets peoples attention. I also usually have a huge smile on my face. I'm working on a giggle too. I'm getting really close although what I do now gives me hiccups which is sort of annoying. I also now roll over really well. It's kind of fun! Mom is trying to teach me to crawl but I don't quite get it yet. Mom and I are also working on getting me to sit up too. It's challenging but I'm getting a little better each day. I got this new toy last week that has really helped. It has balls, and other cool stuff on it and makes this funny noise. I like to grab onto it when I am in my car seat or doing tummy or sit time. It's my new favorite thing. Also reading lots of different books. Mom organized all my toys in this thing called a toy box. I can now see all my toys without them being all over the place.
Well it's still raining. If it ever stops, mom says we're going to another baseball game and back to the zoo. I hope it stops soon!

I've been so busy!

Hi everyone! I know I've been sort of out of touch. I've been battling this nasty flu bug and it just won't go away! Not fun! I'm feeling better just can't get rid of the sniffles. Between that and this annoying rain, I've been home a lot. It's been very boring but mom wants me to get better so that's what we are doing.
I did get to go to an A's game 2 weeks ago and that was fun. It was a little cold so we didn't stay long and the noise was rather disturbing to me. But I did make it almost 4 innings so mom got out a little. She appreciated that. I also got to visit dad at work which was kind of fun. He has a nice office with his name on the door and everything. Getting into dad's office required quite a security check because he works with money. It was kind of cool.
Other than that, mom has been trying to come up with indoor activities for me. We've played with lots of toys and read lots of books. I like books.
Mom says I've been a very good baby even when I was sick. I only fuss when I can't breathe which mom can sympathize with. I can't take any drugs because I am still so young so I have just have to battle through it.
I'm sorry I don't have anything too exciting to report. We go to Stonestown a lot. I like that.
Anyway, gotta go.
